The Somerset Ridge Winery is located between Louisburg and Paola, Kansas. The winery is a small family operation on a couple of acres.

Somerset Ridge produces about 8 or 10 different types of wine. Today we were picking Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes. Here's Sarah with a couple handfuls.

We picked grapes for about an hour, starting at about 10 a.m. There were about 10 or 12 rows of red grapes that were ready to be picked.

About 30 people showed up to help with the harvest. They gave us all name tags and a pruner. Only one person cut themselves that day. It wasn't me.

After picking our half of the row we walked around the small pond which was full of catfish.

Meanwhile at the Louisburg Cider Mill...

Here I am shoving a cider donut in my mouth.
