Hallgrimskirkja at midnight in central Reykjavik.

The cathedral is on the highest hill in Reykjavik, which isn't a very hilly city.
The construction of Hallgrimskirkja ended in 1986, the tower actually has an elevator in it. The elevator stops at eight different levels, the eighth being the top of the bell tower. The statue in the picture was placed in 1930, it was present from the United States government. More on the Leif Ericson statue can be found here
Hallgrimskirka from several blocks away. Skólavörðuholti, a long straight boulevard, connects the city center to the cathedral.

Inside Hallgrimskirkja. The interior is clean and minimalist except for the massive pipe organ above the main entrance.

South-eastern Reykjavik. The glass domed building on the hill is the Perlan (the Pearl). It's large tanks store the city's hot water and the dome is home to a restaurant and museum.

West of Hallgrimskirkja is downtown Reykjavik. The city center is to the right of Lake Tjörnin.
