This weekend we went to a Royals game at Kauffman Stadium. This year is the 40th anniversary of the team and tonight there was a fireworks display and presentation commemorating the anniversary. Here are some of our pictures from the game:

Tonight's game: Royals versus the Cincinnati Reds.
Royals fans on the HD Jumbotron.
The stadium was pretty full. After the game there was a skyshow put on with lasers and fireworks.
The Royals ended up winning the game against the Reds 4-1.
After the game, and before the skyshow presentation, there was a short segment on the Jumbotron titled "High Five Kansas City" where a guy goes around high fiving Royals players and then staring at the camera... it was pretty funny.
The post game event began with Paul Splittorff throwing out a ceremonial pitch. Splittorff, a former Royals pitcher, threw the first pitch when Kauffman Stadium opened.
There were four cubes out on the diamond, one for passion, commitment, tradition and experience - each segment of the presentation highlighted a Royals legend who exemplified one of these.
The folks at the Bud Light Party Deck must have gotten their bangs singed when the hidden flame throwers went off.
At the end of the show the virtue cubes opened up and revealed Willie Wilson, Frank White and George Brett. George Brett game a quick 10 second speech which you can watch below. If you're not a fan of George Brett then just skip to the bottom and watch the fireworks finale.
