Munich

Englischer Garten in Munich

After spending the first half of the day on Marienplatz and in Viktualienmarkt we walked to Odeonsplatz and through the Englischer Garten. The weather was great for early May, it was sunny and in the 70s. Perfect beer garden weather.

A Day in Munich, Germany

Our first day in Germany was spent exploring Munich. I'd been here briefly in 2006 so I had an idea of where to go and what we should see. Munich was much more fun this time around since there was no set itinerary, time tables or anything like that. We got to see the city at our own pace and it worked out pretty well. We did so much in the first day that I've decided to split everything into a couple of posts, below is the first set of pictures from Munich.

Munich: Marienplatz, the Englischer Garten, Hofbräuhaus and Viktualienmarkt

The following pictures were taken in early May, 2006. This was my second time in Munich. During this visit I saw the Englisher Garten, Viktualienmarkt and much more of the city than back in March.

Frankfurt and Munich: March 2006 | Augustiner-Bräu München, Marienplatz and the Glockenspiel

Below are photos from my arrival in Germany. In late March 2006, I flew to Frankfurt and made my way to Munich. While I only spent a few hours in Frankfurt this time, I was in Munich for about two and a half days. It was quite cold in Munich while I was there, it was March after all, so I didn't get to see a whole lot of the city but I did spend a fair amount of time in the city center. I made it back to Munich a few month later, those pictures can be found here.

This is the one of the first pictures I took in Germany. I was waiting for the 8:54am train to Munich at the Frankfurt Flughafen Bahnhof.
