Schloss Seehof, the Bishop's lake palace, in Gereut near Bamberg, Germany

In early June '06 I started riding my bike from the wohnheim on Pestalozzistraße in Bamberg to Schloss Seehof in the early mornings for exercise. Schloss Seehof is a baroque palace about twenty minutes from Bamberg by bike. The palace is actually just outside of Gereut, a small village surrounded by fields and farms. Seehof isn't an incredibly large complex, at least not when compared to some of the other estates in the region. There is an impressive garden on the grounds and a couple of lakes behind the palace with statues throughout.

Schloss Seehof, literally the Lakecourt Palace, is located 5km Northeast of Bamberg

Schloss Seehof was a Summer residence for the Bishop of Bamberg during the late 1700s. Today it's a state park and cultural museum. There is also a restaurant and cafe on the grounds.

The town in the background is actually Gereut, a town about twenty minutes away from Bamberg by bike. Gereut is part of the Memmelsdorf Gemeinde, which is a county adjacent to Landkreis Bamberg.

The Stablehouse has been turned into a Statue Gallery, most of the statues were dated to the 1770s
This statue was labeled as depicting the Angel Michael, he has a chain leash around a demon and it looks like he's riding him like a surf board...
